Nominating Committee

Chair: Tanya VanHouten
Phone: 501-680-7007

The Nominating Committee supports the democratic process of the National Federation of the Blind of Arkansas by helping identify strong, committed members who are ready to serve in elected leadership roles. Before the annual state convention, the committee considers potential candidates who reflect the values, dedication, and high expectations of the Federation. Its work helps ensure that members are presented with qualified nominees who can help move the affiliate forward, represent the needs of blind Arkansans, and strengthen our shared mission of equality, opportunity, and independence.

PAC (Pre-Authorized Contribution) Plan

Coordinator: Cindy Scott-Huisman
Phone: 501-920-7454
Email: [email protected]
Website: www.nfb.org/pac

The PAC Plan, or Pre-Authorized Contribution Plan, is an easy way for members and supporters to give regularly to the National Federation of the Blind. Donors choose a monthly contribution amount—starting as low as $5—and the gift is automatically directed to programs that expand opportunity, independence, and access for blind people. PAC contributions help support outreach, free literature, the Free White Cane Program, the Free Slate and Stylus Program, national scholarships, advocacy efforts, and other Federation initiatives. By participating in PAC, supporters provide steady resources that strengthen the movement and help blind people live the lives they want.

Resolutions Committee

The Resolutions Committee helps members turn important concerns into clear, meaningful action. The committee reviews issues affecting blind Arkansans, works with members to shape proposed resolutions, and helps prepare those resolutions for consideration at the NFBAR State Convention. Once adopted, resolutions become official affiliate policy and guide our advocacy, public education, and efforts to protect the rights, independence, and full participation of blind people.
